Observation tower Słubice

Observation tower Słubice

The observation tower is located in the SOSiR sports and leisure park, on the hill immediately behind the historic stadium. From the parking lot at the municipal cemetery, a 500-meter-long, illuminated path leads through the forest to the tower. The 30-meter-high observation tower in Słubice offers a unique view of the twin city and its surroundings. It is barrier-free – accessible either by elevator or via around 100 steps – and offers impressive panoramic views from two viewing platforms and through a glass floor. The upper level is equipped with a telescope and a glass floor. The tower is reminiscent of the Kleist Tower, built in 1892 in honor of the poet and officer Ewald Christian von Kleist, who fell in the Battle of Kunersdorf in 1759. This structure was destroyed in 1945. The area around the tower is equipped with benches and a playground. The construction project was carried out as part of the Frankfurt-Słubicer project “Kleist Tower and Bolfras House (Phase II),” which was co-financed by the European Union (Interreg VA Brandenburg – Poland 2014-2020 program). The same project saw permanent lighting in the colors of the twin city installed on the city bridge in 2021, and the historic Bolfras House in Frankfurt (Oder) rebuilt in its first phase (2010-2014). Admission is free.
