It is an image of the military and defense arts that can still be admired today. A walk through the city, which was documented in the possession of the Lubusz bishops in 1252 and was given a three-aisled hall church in the 13th century, gives an idea of ​​the wealth of the city. A testimony to the “good times” of the city are not only the city wall and the church, but also the town houses from the 18th and 19th centuries. If you want to get to know the history of the city better, the Museum of the Sternberger Land is recommended. The museum, founded in 2002, houses exhibits and souvenirs of the city and regional history, which up to now were kept in private collections, among other things. Among the most interesting exhibits are exhibits from ancient ceramics. The museum is located in the town hall, which was built in the style of the Italian neo-renaissance, and is one of the most interesting architectural buildings in the Lubusz Voivodeship. The Röthsee (Reczynek) north of the city offers the locals as well as the guests a variety of recreational opportunities.
