Concert hall "C.P.E. Bach"

The "C.P.E. Bach" Concert Hall is located in the former Franciscan church from the 13th century in the city centre of Frankfurt (Oder). The Gothic brick building was once part of a Franciscan monastery and was one of the few buildings to survive the destruction of the Second World War. The church has been used as a concert hall since 1967. Today, it is the home of the Brandenburg State Orchestra and the venue for important musical events, such as the Musikfesttage an der Oder music festival. The sacristy houses the world's only permanent exhibition on Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach, who studied at Viadrina University. Among other things, historical instruments and first editions of his works are on display. Please note: The concert hall is currently undergoing extensive renovation. It is not possible to view the interior at present.
