Mixdorf
Mixdorf
Mixdorf belongs to the municipality of Schlaubetal and is located on the RB 36 railway line between Frankfurt (Oder) and Königs Wusterhausen. Urn and stone axe finds are evidence of an early settlement, and the village was first mentioned in 1523 as part of the Order of St John.
The restored church, built in 1719, characterises the townscape. In recent years, the population has grown significantly due to new residential areas. A leisure and sports centre offers opportunities for sporting activities and socialising.
Mixdorf is a good starting point for excursions to the Schlaubetal, the Ragower Mühle or the Christopherusheim. The village includes the residential area of Kupferhammer on the Schlaube to the east, from where the ‘Mahlheide’, a nature reserve with bizarre pine trees, and the campsite at Schervenzsee in Schernsdorf can be reached.
